Executive Director Dick Pahle Retires
After six years of dedicated service to the Philip L. Van Every Foundation, Executive Director Dick Pahle is retiring on September 22, 2021.
The Foundation Board is deeply grateful for Dick’s outstanding leadership, most notably his skilled management with onboarding the Foundation’s online, grant-making process and building relationships among grantees and communities across the Carolinas.
Prior to joining the Philip L. Van Every Foundation, Dick enjoyed a successful career in development, leading teams for several Charlotte nonprofit organizations, including the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library where he spent most of his career.
Crystal Thomann Appointed New Executive Director
The Philip L. Van Every Foundation Board has named Crystal Thomann its new executive director, effective September 22, 2021.
Crystal brings more than 10 years of experience working in the local nonprofit community.
Crystal specializes in relationship building and strategic thinking. She graduated from Roanoke College with a degree in English and Marketing.
Crystal is inspired daily by her husband, Matt, and their two children, Lillian and William.
In her free time, Crystal enjoys traveling, photography, exploring the outdoors by hiking or biking, and reading a good fiction novel.
