Submit an Application

The Philip L. Van Every Foundation is accepting new Letters of Inquiry through August 10, 2024.

How to Apply
Qualified organizations which meet the Foundation’s grant making guidelines are invited to submit a "letter of inquiry" through our online grants portal. Logon instructions will be provided once your click on the site. After review of your inquiry, you will be notified if we believe that your organization is a good match for funding from the Foundation. Initial interest from the Foundation does not indicate that you will be invited to apply for funding. In order to be considered, you must complete the form in its entirety.

Carefully review the Foundation's areas of focus to confirm that you are applying for the correct type of gift (capital/program) and in the appropriate category. To be considered, applications must be submitted in the correct gift category and include the required attachments, questions answered fully, and specific details requested. Applications must be received by the due date to be considered.

If your letter of inquiry is approved, then you will be invited to submit a full grant application through the Foundation's online grants portal. An email notification will be sent to the applicant on file regarding next steps. Please do not contact the Foundation regarding the status of your application.

Letters of inquiry are accepted during the first three quarters of the year, and are reviewed by the Board in March, June, and September. Letters of inquiry are due by 5:00 p.m. on Feb.10, May 10, and Aug.10. Letters of Inquiry received after the deadline will be considered at the next quarterly Board meeting. The Foundation does not accept letters of inquiry during the fourth quarter.

Full grant proposals (requires LOI approval and invitation to submit) are considered during the second, third and fourth quarters of the year, and are reviewed by the Board in June, September, and December. Full grant proposals are due by 5:00 p.m. on May 10, Aug.10, and Nov.10. Grant proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.
